Michela is a native Italian speaker and has over 20 years experience as an Italian Language teacher both in the public and private sector. She has had the opportunity to instruct a wide variety of students from different backgrounds, cultures, and all grade levels from kindergarten to graduate coursework at CCSU. She possess a Master's Degree in Modern Language (Italian). She enjoys working with students and presents her own views and experiences to the rest of the class. Michela is a compassionate instructor who provides individual and group support.
Daniela Aparo, a lifetime resident of Middletown, CT was a 1994 graduate of Mercy High School, and graduated from Central Connecticut State University, earning a bachelor's degree in Italian and Spanish. In 1998 Daniela began a teaching career in foreign language and was employed by Inlingua International. In 1999, Daniela began to teach at Mercy High School where she currently teaches Italian 1, 2, 3, and 4 and Spanish 2. At Mercy, she currently serves as Chapter Advisor to the McCauley Chapter of the National Honor Society, and the foundress and Chapter Advisor of the Society Onoraria Italica, Caterina di Siena, the Italian National Honor Society. She is also the moderator of the Italian Club at Mercy. Daniela maintains various local, state and national memberships in professional organizations including the Connecticut Organization of Language Teachers (COLT) and the American Association of Teachers of Italian. Daniela is often recognized for her dedication, loyalty, commitment and service to her alma mater, and also is viewed as a maternal-figure to many of her high school students.
